Nick Jordan, founder and CEO of Smashing Boxes and co-founder of Unboxed Venture Studio, has played a key role in Durham’s technology, innovation, and placemaking industries for nearly 15 years. Through his work, he has helped build startups, creative spaces, and local businesses that strengthen the city’s business ecosystem. His passion lies in developing environments where entrepreneurs, artists, and small business owners can thrive—making Durham an even more vibrant place to live and work.
Eric Porper, co-founder of Unboxed Venture Studio and Emblem Vault, is passionate about creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs, artists, and small business owners. From technology and hospitality to non-profits and placemaking, he is focused on preserving Durham’s local culture while building sustainable, independent businesses that contribute to the city’s future.
